Fitness and self-improvement journey

75 Days Later

By Angel P. | April 18, 2025

Well, somehow you ended up here on my very first blog post. So hi and welcome to "75 Days Later!"

2024 wrapped up amazingly, marked by an exciting event celebrating our organization, Angular Macedonia. I truly felt like 2025 would be my year, especially after ending 2024 with so much energy and momentum. But life took an unexpected turn in January. I found myself sick, forced to slow down, reflect, and acknowledge that some things needed to change. Many of the exciting opportunities I had been chasing suddenly cooled off, leaving me inevitably battling feelings of guilt.

"Here's a question I've been asking myself often lately: How much can you really grow if you fully commit to changing yourself for the next 75 days?"

One big item on my bucket list was the gym. It's something I've tackled consistently and inconsistently. Sure, it positively impacted my health, but it always felt like something was off. Maybe it was my bad eating habits or simply not staying consistent enough. Admittedly, my career took precedence. My priorities were clear: career growth, learning, and advancing professionally.

Starting from the end of January, I gave myself a few weeks to reset. This time, I approached it differently, locked in, fully focused, and dedicated to achieving results with one clear goal in mind: improving my physique.

Meal prepping became essential to my routine

Meal prepping became essential to my routine

The first step I took was improving my cooking. Honestly, I didn't want to spend much time cooking as my days were already packed. So, I decided to give meal prepping a try. Yup, I watched tutorials and created my first "static" meal prep, meaning eating the same thing every single day 😂. Although I got teased about this, I stuck with it and improved week by week. Soon enough, new meals found their way into my rotation, even though breakfast stayed the same.

I did my homework and aimed to stay around 1800-2000 calories daily, carefully tracking my food intake. I learned a ton about macros, focusing heavily on protein. My target was roughly 160-200 grams of protein per day and around 170 grams of carbs. The goal was to maintain a calorie deficit to lose fat while building muscle. Sounds impossible, right? But trust me, it’s doable, I’ve proved it. You can even calculate your own macros using a simple online calculator based on your weight, height, and activity level.

Progress, not perfection.

Progress, not perfection.

Of course, fully committing means making sacrifices now for bigger rewards later. For me, that meant drastically cutting down on social media, improving my sleep, and adjusting my overall lifestyle.

I also want to mention Stefan, who's been with me throughout this entire journey. What started as a trainer-client dynamic quickly turned into a solid friendship. We've been lifting weights together, training hard, pushing each other to the limit, and making some serious progress. Who knew your trainer could become one of your closest friends? Sharing the struggles, laughs, and small wins along the way made the entire process way more fun and motivating.

The next challenge is finding balance in all these areas. Because sometimes, all it takes is 75 quiet days in a row to change everything.

Thanks for reading. See you on the next one!
